No programmingTo produce professional looking business documents with LaserNet, programming is not necessary, either in your SAP system or in LaserNet.LaserNet uses graphical tools on a Windows platform to develop document layouts and configure data processing. For complex demands there is also a scripting language, for example to acquire additional data from sources other than the SAP system.Changes to your SAP documents no longer require programming in SAPScript, unless you need to insert additional data fields into the output. Having extracted these additional fields from the SAP database and included them somewhere on the output layout, the real formatting and processing is done externally with LaserNet.Legacy, script based document processing system can also be replaced.
No major change required to your SAP systemAs long as all data fields that you want to output on your business document are output in the current SAP print output data stream, you need no further changes in your SAP System to use LaserNet.The SAP converters from Quadira accept all normal SAP internal print formats and produce the right input for the LaserNet system.You just need to switch your SAP Device definition to use SAPGOF in order to switch off the SAP device drivers. From then on, no document processing will be made on the SAP server and all existing forms layouts remain intact.Additional requirements such as logos, barcodes, OMR markings, watermarks, device features, etc. are done in LaserNet. Mailing, faxing and archiving can also be achieved using LaserNet.
Take advantage of Windows device driversSAP uses its own output drivers, that unfortunately are not always at the forefront of the latest technology and able to support all the possible features of the the latest output devices. Without really understanding this problem, your purchasing department tries to buy the best printer devices at the best possible prices. Sometimes to no avail.Other external document processing and output system also work with their own internal drivers.Not LaserNet. LaserNet uses the Windows device drivers. As soon as a new device is available on the market, you can take advantages of such devices to reduce costs.No other drivers need to be purchased or maintained. The Windows drivers delivered with an output device can be immediately utilized. Which also means you are much more supplier and device independent!
Reducing the load on the SAP ServersThe reason that SAP introduced the Raw Data Interface (RDI) and data format was to reduce the load on the SAP servers at IS-U customers (utilities industry). Rather than process thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of documents in the SAP system with SAP drivers, which had a major impact on the performance of the SAP system for all users, SAP acknowledged the need to offload the processing of business document and process these externally.Quaidra use their know-how to take advantage of this load balancing interface for ALL SAP print output, whether that is RDI, GOF (Generic Output Format), XSF (XML for SmartForms) or XFP (XML for PDF).The improved availability of the SAP server(s) provides direct cost savings.

Utiltise the advantage of Windows printing even with UNIX SAP systems.Use the latest output devices, including mailing and faxing solution, with your UNIX based SAP System. You just need to redirect your print output to the Windows server running LaserNet to process the data there.On the Windows server, LaserNet is not only able to process the data, but can also distribute the output to the destination devices.
Migrating from a legacy system.You have an existing out-dated solution and want to replace this with a modern graphical solution? You can run both systems in parallel for as long as needed, migrating to LaserNet document for document. To reduce risks, we use your existing print data streams without change in LaserNet.LaserNet is capable of starting any external process, for example, to convert data. Using this mechanism, you can also start your existing system to process any documents that are not yet migrated to LaserNet, until such a date that the old system can be turned off.
Define your basic layouts using Windows office toolsTemplates, pre-defined document layouts, watermarks, logos, terms and conditions - everything that acts as a basis for the printed business documents must no longer be created in your SAP system; they can be produced using standard Windows applications.Your SAP documents can look just as good as your MS Word letters and your MS Publisher documents.The company's corporate design, created by the marketing department with their own design tools, can be used directly in LaserNet.Service companies can take their customers document specifications and layout and use them directly without change. When the customer requires a change, they simply supply you with an update to their core layouts and the matter is closed.

SAP offers various solutions, ranging from the original ABAP List Format (ALF) from the days of the
mainframe R/2 version, via SAPScript, through to the latest Adobe Interactive Forms. Even so, an
